I have always believed that change is a good thing and it is something to be embraced, not feared. I view change as an opportunity to grow and improve.
I admit there is some truth to the old adage, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’
However, just because something isn’t broken doesn’t mean it can’t be improved, nor does it mean that a change won’t be for the better.
When things don’t change on their own, you need to shake things up. You need to initiate change.
I have been writing a weekly blog and posting a weekly YouTube video for several years and I am ready for a change. I am ready to shake things up!
I am brainstorming ways to freshen up my current format. Why? I want a new challenge, I want to leave my comfort zone, and I want to work on new skill sets.
I am debating the pros and cons of converting to a vlog (video blog). In theory, a vlog would combine my weekly blog with my weekly YouTube video.
I believe that video is a more powerful medium, it is more mobile friendly, and it is more spontaneous and less polished then print (my average blog takes several hours to complete from start to finish).
This past weekend I posted a few Tweets asking for feedback on a blog vs. a vlog and got an overwhelming amount of responses (for which I was very appreciative).
Most players loved the idea of converting to a vlog (which was not surprising given the younger generation is very video-centric).
Most coaches preferred sticking with a blog (which was not shocking either as most coaches are not quite as technically savvy as the kids they coach!).
So with the jury still out, I need to give this some serious thought. Do I do both weekly? Do I alternate weeks? Do I do a vlog and then provide a written transcript as a printable blog? Or do I keep things the same? These are all options I am open to.
After all, I am here to serve you. I create content for one reason and one reason only – to help players and coaches!
And while content is kind, the format in which the content is delivered is vital.
Cause if ya’ll ain’t watchin’ or readin’ what I’m puttin’ out – then it don’t matter!
So I plan to use this summer to evaluate my options and devise a refreshed plan of attack.
But I won’t be taking a 3 month hiatus, but instead, I will make this a summer of remixes. I will polish up and re-post my favorite blogs and videos from the past 3 years… similar to the way TV shows play re-runs all summer and then drop new episodes in the fall.
It will be The Summer of Stronger Team (very similar to the Summer of George for you Seinfeld buffs)!
For you long time Stronger Team supporters, I hope these remixes serve as helpful reminders. For anyone new to the movement, these re-posted blogs and videos will feel like new content!
In addition, I have a few other major announcements I will be making by email the first week of June – so make sure you register your email address so you don’t miss a beat:

Train hard. Train smart. Enjoy your summer!
